In encounter, the more malleable conforms to the less.

Between computer and person, the computer is always less malleable than the person interacting with it. The person can adapt, change, introduce a new sequence of events or thoughts. In spite of what might seem like the infinite possibility of a computer, it can do only what it has been programmed to do. The person can only walk away.

And thus in encounter between person and machine, it is not machine that is elevated but person that is diminished.
